While some still have problems to get a Google Pixel, the company apparently preparing the second generation of these devices, which this year will feature 3 models instead of 2, all of them with processor Snapdragon 835.
According to several codes newly discovered in the Android Open Source project, the three new mobile Google have names in key “Walleye“,“Muskie“and “Taimen”.
We already knew that Walleye will be the successor to the XL Pixel, while Muskie will probably replace the standard Pixel, but which remains a mystery is the nickname Taimendevice, although it is believed might be a new phablet with one screen that is even greater than the Google Pixel XL, or even a tablet in the style of the Pixel C launched in 2015.
Other information revealed by the same source points out that three new smartphones will have the processor Snapdragon 835 because Qualcomm still has not announced a new model, so Google will settle for adding this SoC to their terminals.
Apart from the Qualcomm processor, other possible specifications of the Google Pixel 2 are the inclusion of a 540 Adreno GPU at a speed of 670 MHz, about 6 GB of RAM, modem LTE X 16, certification IP68, Quick Charge 3.0 with USB-C Quick charging and operating system Android or factory.
In the field of cameras, the current generation of Google Pixel already boasts the best camera that can be found on a smartphone, according to DxOMark, so new generation will surely continue by the same road but possibly with greater resolution and more software optimizations sensors.
The new Google Pixel 2 launch date is not yet known, but the new devices will be manufactured by HTC and may debut in October 2017, the same month that was presented the current generation of phones Pixel last year.
