CyanogenMod had a very sad news the day of Christmas Eve. Cyanogen made the decision to restructure itself and that movement was ahead CM. A story that left us a little bittersweet in that same day while we tried to fit the news and hoped that CyanogenMod confirmed it, as it already did more later in the day.
Lineage OS is trying to pick up the spirit of CyanogenMod to return with other jurisdictions and tracing the same structure. Do not know if they will get it, since setting up a project CM style at a time in which increasingly less relegates alternative ROMs, it senses that can be difficult. We already have the first unofficial Lineage OS ROMs.
The first unofficial ROMs Lineage OS have been published. Really these ROMs have the latest stable firmware of CyanogenMod, for what is supposed to is a sufficiently stable ROM so you can download it if you have one of the supported devices from this list:
- ASUS Zenfone Max
- LG G3
- LG G20 from T-Mobile
- OnePlus 2
- OnePlus 3
- Samsung Galaxy S2
- Samsung Galaxy Verizon S5
The current version of OS Lineage is the 14.1 and is based on Android 7.1 Nougat. You have this link to go to download ROMs for any of these devices in the list. The flashing of the ROM is identical and those who are accustomed to these conflicts will not have major concerns for this ROM installed in the phone.
Lineage OS is now in the very difficult tessitura building structure to mimic what was CyanogenMod. This is why they are asking for the collaboration of developers for cooking ROMs and the possibility that can access servers to store images, ROMs, etc. It will not be easy, since today are not thousands users that are relegated into custom ROMs.
